Sharing the Power of Horses as Teachers
Reinbow Riding Center is located high in the hills of Belmont, Vermont where our open fields, trails and riding facility overlook the beautiful  Green Mountains.  Since 2008, the Center has been providing a therapeutic riding experience for riders starting at the age of three through adulthood.
RRC is a member of PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship), an international organization. We provide highly certified instructors and a dedicated staff of volunteers.
Therapeutic riding provides a wonderful growth experience for children and adults with special needs or at risk teens. On horseback or unmounted, therapeutic horsemanship helps students of all ages and abilities overcome their own limitations whether they are physical, emotional or social. Our programs can help them gain self-confidence, a sense of accomplishment and allow them to achieve a freedom of movement they may not have experienced before.
Perhaps Winston Churchill said it best, “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
At Reinbow Riding Center we tailor our programs to each student’s needs. The calming warmth experienced in the presence of horses and ponies often opens the door to beneficial communication between students and their equine partners and in turn instructors and volunteers. This begins the process leading to successful interaction with the world at large and is a valuable tool in our desire to improve the every day lives’ of our students.
Organizations such as, Special Olympics, United Cerebral Palsy, Easter Seals, the U.S. Veterans organizations, American Physical Therapy Association, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Spina Bifida Association, Mental Health and Mentoring Programs, and programs for at risk children have recognized the benefits of therapeutic horsemanship.
The mission of Reinbow Riding Center is to improve the well being of individuals with unique physical, emotional and cognitive challenges through a therapeutic equine experience.

Newsflash
Happy New Year Everyone. We, at Reinbow Riding Center, hope you are well and excited for a new year.

We are looking forward to “getting back in the saddle” in the Spring of 2021. If Covid does not throw us another curve ball, we plan to open by May of 2021.
We have been busy during the fall and winter and will be welcoming you to our new facility located in Belmont. It is an easy jaunt from Rutland and surrounding areas and has beautiful views from our new riding ring.
We are in the process of updating our rider and volunteer paperwork. The new paperwork will be available on this site by Feb 1, 2021 and ready for you to access.  If you, or any member of your family, is interested in participating in our program services you will need to complete the application form in its entirety and submit it to us as soon as possible. If you have any questions about the paperwork or our program in general, please reach out to our Program Director (Mary Jane Osborne) at programs@reinbowridingcenter.org, or 802-236-2483.
